I was driving around the other night looking for something new. I was driving on the beach road by the Kanary resort and turned to go up that road towards Sukhumvit. I passed a bunch of restaurants and crossed a bridge and saw a bar on the right. There were some girls sitting outside so I turned around and went back. It was a pretty fun place. There were about 5 girls working the place, two who were attractive. All of the staff was friendly and not pushy about buying drinks. I think my two big Leos came to a little over 200 baht, which is expensive but not as much as some other places I've been. Unlike many karaoke places, they didn't charge me for a girl to sit with me. They even had a bunch of English songs on the jukebox. I will be going back, and when I do I'll try to find out the name.
A Good Karaoke Bar?

I went there again last night. It was a lot of fun. I had a girl sit with me. I'll call her Lady X. She's in her mid-30's but looks great and seems like a good girl. Just like before there were about 5 girls working, but besides Lady X only one was what I'd call good looking.
There was a 100 baht charge on my bill, which they said was for a drink for her. They may have padded the bill, but I might have just forgot about buying her the drink. Alcohol was involved.
I was there at around 2AM. For about 10-15 minutes there were a bunch of Thai guys fighting on the street out front. A couple of them were fighting right in front of the bar's door. Then the cops came. It was bizarre, but no trouble when I left around 2:30.
Lady X informed me if I was interested in her "company" it would set me back 1500 baht. I would definitely like to spend some quality time with her, but she's gonna have come down on that price. Why do these girls in Rayong think they deserve more than girls in Pattaya or Bang Chang?
I still didn't get the name of the bar. Maybe next time.

With about 6 more months experience in Rayong now, I have come to the conclusion that all karaoke bars are by definition "rip-offs". If you must go to one, check your bill carefully, and try to politely negotiate the price down to an acceptable level. If you meet a girl you like, get her number and arrange to meet her outside the bar.

I'd agree with you on that point & I stopped going into those joints a long time ago
