The is no place in Rayong that can really top the No. 43 Italian Bistro located in the Kantary Bay luxury high rise on the beach. The restaurant's name is a little misleading as it serves much more than Italian food. They have Mexican foood festivals, German food festivals and a bakery to die for. They also have a nightly all-you-eat buffet. This is 6-star dining with a 3-star price. Best bargain for the best food in Rayong.

How much does it cost? Is it easy to find?

It seems Rayong has a lot more to offer than I thought!

cluezo was talking about the special buffets that are offered 4-6 times a year. They bring in guest chefs and it costs 800-1000 baht for dinner. The average meal without drinks is 400-500 baht (it varies widely by your entree choice and meal size).

Here's a review with a general description of the menu and prices:
pattaya mail restaurant review

Kantary Bay Bistro 43 website

Kantary Bay Hotel is located across from Sangchan Beach. If approaching Rayong from Pattaya/Sattahip from Sukhumvit or Hwy 36, turn right on Tha Banthuk (we call it PMY Road - look for the big PMY Resort sign), which is the first traffic light as you enter Rayong town. Take that road, all the way across the bridge over the Rayong River, and turn right when you reach the "T" intersection with beach road. It is just a little way west on Beach Road, and will be on your right.

That's the beauty of Rayong - unspoiled by hordes of farangs. Plenty of increcible places tucked away here and there. Havent't even begun to scratch the surface....
