14 year old girl shot in gang-related incident in front of Marine Corp Base in Sattahip.

In the early hours of Saturday Morning, Police Lieutenant Supawat from Sattahip Police Station was called to the front of the Royal Thai Navy Marine Corp Base following a shooting. A 14 year old girl was shot in the shoulder directly in front of the base. The incident was gang-related and Khun Sainglat aged 19, a friend of the injured girl explained to Police that he was driving the girl back to her home when a gang of young men, known to Khun Sainglat, spotted him and approached. A fight between him and the gang of 20 men began. He was clearly outnumbered and approached a Marine who was guarding the base. The 20-man gang appeared not to be concerned that they were fighting close to the base and one of them produced a gun and shot in the direction of Khun Sainglat. The bullet missed him and injured the 14 year old girl who was standing close-by. Police are investigating.
