I have been to similiar places in other Thai cities, and I knew Rayong had to have some, and finally last week my hours of exploring paid off.

Now heads up to any newbies who haven't been to such establishments before - this does not look like a very safe area.

Turn onto Taksin Rd and head toward the ocean. Just before the ocean the road splits. Go left and maybe a half kilo or so down that road there are a few dinky little karaoke places, mostly on the left side. I saw many Thai and Cambo guys walking around on the streets. This is probably where fishermen and dock workers go to get drunk and laid. Bad news - it's likely a volatile area, though I had no problems nor saw any incidents the hour or so I was there. The good news - the available women are less expensive than what falangs usually see.

The girls were waiting outside and called to me as I drove by. I parked my bike right out front (and kept checking on it during my stay :P ). As always they pushed me to drink beer, so I bought a couple of 100 baht Leos and shared them with 2 girls and the mammasan. Then I established that they have ST rooms on premises - yes they do. I didn't look at them but more than likely they are just the rooms where the girls stay, little more than a closet-sized room with a mattress. Next Mamma tried to get me to take a girl for 1000 ST. :P Of course I politely refused. Then a 3rd girl came in and immediately told me she would go ST with me for 500 baht. I doubt Mamma liked that. I told them I was just looking that night and might come back in the future.

My plan is to go back and check out some of the other places before indulging. There looked to be 5-6 establishments around that intersection. There were also several attractive ladies walking around on the street, many of whom asked me, "Where you go?" My first visit was around 8-9 PM. Not sure if they are open during the day.

Anybody else tried these places?
"Badges? We ain't got no badges."
