Just tried a new German restaurant on "Soi Sin". I think the name is the German Butcher. It's right next to a 7-11. The food was great, if a little pricey. I had a brat with saurkraut and it was delicious, though the brat was a little on the small side. My friend had roast pork with dumplings and it was delicious as well (he let me try some). They have Chang on tap and a good Happy Hour deal. The owner is from Hamburg and also has a shop next door that sells sausage, cheese, etc.

555 - just came back from eating breakfast/lunch at the shop. The shop serves from 10am-5pm, and the restaurant next door opens at 5pm. American and English breakfast are served for about 150 baht. The American breakfast comes with 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 fried eggs, french bread, a small salad, orange juice and coffee or tea. The sausage and bacon are excellent. The English breakfast might come up a little short for true Brits, because there was no black pudding or fried tomatoes. The mushrooms and beans are good. I highly recommend their fried potatoes. A friend of mine ate the meatloaf with potato salad and declared it was excellent. That was about 140 baht.

I saw some things at the shop that I will come back and buy. For the first time, I found whole bean coffee sold anywhere outside of Pattaya and Bangkok. 100 baht for a bag, and it smelled excellent. They have a full deli counter with great sausage, real swiss cheese and parma ham. While the TGM meats you can buy at Tesco are not bad, if you don't mind spending extra money, they have great deli meats. They also seem to have a good wine selection and sell Erdinger beer in the big bottle, both light and dark. I also saw real barbecue sauce, which I have not seen elsewhere in Rayong.
