Major Security breach at the Sattahip Navy Base as 16 year old uses gun to escape from Police and the Navy.


Four young men on three motorbikes caused a stir in Bang Sarae sub-district in Sattahip on Friday Afternoon which involved Police and Navy Soldiers and led to a major security breach at the Sattahip Navy Base. The case begins with a Police Checkpoint in Bang Sarai. The four men saw the checkpoint but decided not to stop as they were driving stolen motorbikes. As they approached the checkpoint, one of the men produced a gun and pointed it in the direction of officers at the checkpoint. The officers gave chase, however the men then decided to enter the Sattahip Navy Base as they thought the Police could not follow. As they approached the entrance to the base which is guarded by armed naval officers, the young man once again produced a gun and pointed it at the guards. The men then entered the base unchallenged. The chase now involved the navy and the Police who managed to arrest the man with the gun who was found to be only 16 years of age. The three other men managed to escape. Police are investigating and are attempting to round up the group of suspected motorbike thieves and an urgent review of security at the Navy Base is now underway.
