In the early hours of Tuesday Morning, Police based at Sattahip received a report of a serious assault on a Bangkok Taxi Driver who’s Taxi was also stolen following the attack on him. Khun Sanyar aged 48 could initially not be found by officers who found the man hiding in bushes. He was clearly shaken and explained that he had brought two Thai customers to Pattaya from Bangkok. As he was preparing to return to Bangkok, three young Thai men flagged down his Taxi and asked if he could take them to Sattahip. He accepted the fare but when he arrived at the destination, he was asked to drive further on to a more secluded point, close to a car park next to a Public Garden. As he pulled up, he was grabbed around the neck and punched repeatedly in the face, forcing him out of the vehicle which was then driven away by the three men. Police suspect the three men were unable to get far as the gas tank was close to empty according to the victim. Despite this, the Taxi has yet to be located and the suspects are still at large.
